This Certificate III in Automotive Underbody Technology equips students with the skills and knowledge required to perform work in the automotive light vehicle service and repair sector.
This qualification is typically used to develop employees or recognise and develop existing workers who are performing vehicle service and repair functions in an automotive environment.
They would be expected to perform a range of mechanical operations involving known routines, methods and procedures and take some accountability for the quality of outcomes.
This qualification level is intended to prepare new employees or recognises and develops existing workers who are performing mechanical work in the diesel engine service and repair sector.

The duration to complete this competency based qualification is up to 12- 18 months for Fee for Service Students.
This duration is proportionately increased for full-time, part-time and school based apprenticeship arrangements.
New England College flexible training model takes into account the learner’s skills and knowledge acquired through previous training and experience. This may lead to a reduction in the time required to complete this apprenticeship.

User Choice - funding is available through the Queensland Government User Choice Program

Nominal hours for each unit will be outlined in the agreed training plan, which will be provided to the employer and apprentice or trainee, at the time of induction.
