Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This Certificate level reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Employment outcomes related to this qualification may include:

  • Early Education Child Care worker

The duration to complete this competency based qualification is up to 12 months.

The New England College flexible training model takes into account the learner’s skills and knowledge acquired through previous training and experience. This may lead to a reduction in the time required to complete this course.

Fee For Service - $2,250

Certificate 3 Guarantee - Funded by the Queensland Government

Dependent on your concessional status, under the Certificate 3 Guarantee, you are required to contribute to the costs of your training through a co-contribution fee. New England College charges the following co-contribution fees for the courses we offer under the Certificate 3 Guarantee:

Concessional student co-contribution fee - $69         Non-concessional student co-contribution fee- $99

Once you have completed a Certificate III level vocational qualification under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program you will no longer be eligible for any additional government subsidised training.

User Choice - funding is available through the Queensland Government User Choice Program

Eligible apprentices and trainees that meet the Queensland state funding requirements will be charged a student contribution fee of $1.60 per nominal hour. For more information on the number of units funded for this course visit Queensland Training Information Services. 

Nominal hours for each unit will be outlined in the agreed training plan, which will be provided to the employer and apprentice or trainee, at the time of induction.
